Crocheted with alternate rows of filet stitches and contrasting bobbles!
You can make it with stripes or make it ‘all in one colour’ if you like!
I have kept it neat by adding a smart ribbed border, but if you prefer a simple plain edge, just add two rounds of Htr (USA Hdc) stitches instead!
I have included the ‘multiple number’ in pattern for altering the size 😊
I have also added a matching hat for you to make, with 6 sizes from prem baby up to 18 months.

The examples in this pattern have been crocheted using DK yarn (USA Light worsted),
A great weight for a new baby (Aran weight yarn may also be used, but will result in a thicker blanket). Yarn amounts given in pattern are for a DK blanket.
Yarn used for Blanket: King Cole DK 100g x 4 Balls.
Hat - 1 x 50g Ball for all sizes - Prem baby 5/6 LB, Newborn, 0-3m, 3-6m, 6-12m, 12-18m.
Scraps for the edging.
Yarn recommendations: King Cole Comfort DK 100g, Paintbox DK, Stylecraft Special DK for babies, in fact most other soft DK yarns of a similar weight may be used.
