Designed for my Granddaughters during the Coronavirus lockdown, this little jacket represents fun and freedom to play outside again :-

Made to be worn throughout the year, this warm and snuggly little jacket will bring much joy and smiles to everyone around.

I have designed the jacket “all in one piece” ! There are no seams or making up to do, only the appliques to sew on once the Jacket is finished.

I have used a soft Aran weight yarn (USA Worsted) for the jacket and 4 colours of DK weight (USA light worsted) for the appliques, a great pattern for using up your yarn scraps!
I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did 😊

YARN
For the Jacket - Aran weight yarn (USA Worsted) – Most similar Aran yarns will work with this pattern.
I have used 2 different yarn brands for each Jacket to get the colours I wanted.

Turquoise Jacket - King cole Comfort Aran 100g (Surf blue)
Purple Jacket – King cole Comfort Aran 100g (Lavender)
Pink Jacket - Stylecraft Special Aran 100g (Fondant pink)

Appliques – I used Stylecraft DK Colours: Pomegranate, Grass green, Fondant, Citron (and King cole - Surf). You may use yarn scraps of DK you may already have for the appliques.

3-6 M - Main colour (2 balls)
6-12 M – Main colour (2 balls)
1-2 Y Main colour (3 balls)
2-3 Y Main colour (3 balls)
3-4 Y Main colour (3 balls)

Lovely pattern

Thank you Kerry for your lovely pattern, I was hesitant to try a written pattern as I thought it wouldn't be easy to follow, but you have made it so easy love the picture tutorials as well. I will be buying many more of your designs

Lovely little cardigan

Thank you so much for this lovely straightforward crochet pattern. It was my first attempt at making clothing and I really enjoyed making this little cardigan and have ordered enough aran yarn to make quite a few. I’m not a fast crocheter but they didn’t take me long and they are easy enough to make whilst watching tv. I don’t know any little people but plan to drop them in to my local charity shop for them to sell after the Covid restrictions are lifted. Thanks again for the lovely pattern 💕

Hi Gill
Thank you for your lovely review i am so glad that you have found it easy to follow and are pleased with the results. That sounds like a lovely thing to do with the cardis.
Happy crocheting

Stunning pattern

Wonderful pattern thank you!
I love all the sizes included and the gauge tutorial was so helpful.
I managed to complete 4 jackets for my grandkids all in different colours, they look amazing and fit beautifully :-) Thank you for adding so many sizes so I was able to do this.

I loved the tutorials for the flowers too, so colourful and bright and just what I need at this time :-)

beautiful patterns

I love the patterns I've have purchased quite a few I'm new to crochet I'm a experienced knitter
I have tried to make the freedom jacket and the beanie hat I've found the instructions easy to follow but they have both turned out massive
I've used Aran and hook size 5 mm could you please advise me were I have gone wrong Thank you in advance.

Hi Linda, Thank you for your lovely comments. I would always recommend doing a gauge test to match the gauge stated in the pattern. If you are are a loose crocheteter then it is probably a simple case of going down a half a hook size to acheive the correct tension for your cardigan to come up the correct size :-) Hope this helps, Kerry xx
